Ενώ μπορείς να πλησιάσεις το αεροδρόμιο γύρω-γύρω (σε σημείο να μπεις και μέσα) χωρίς να σε ενοχλήσει κανείς! Βέβαια από κίνηση δε λέει και πολλά, μόνο κάθε Κυριακή που κατεβαίνουν οι Άγγλοι γίνεται χαμός, τις άλλες μέρες 1-2 αεροπλάνα και πολύ!

Planespotters recruited in terror fight

LONDON (Reuters) - Police have recruited planespotters to help fight the war on terror at London's Heathrow Airport.

The spotters are being issued with identity cards and called upon to report any damage to security fences or unusual activity around the airport which could be linked to crime or terrorism.

The scheme has the backing of London police chiefs and airport operator BAA Heathrow.

Chief Superintendent Jerry Savill said: "We want to encourage everyone, but particularly those who know the workings of the airport and can therefore spot something out of the ordinary, to contact police if they believe something they see or hear is suspicious.

"Aviation enthusiasts are watching the activities of the airport every day and their legitimate interest can only be to our advantage. They may see someone they don't recognise as part of their community whose interest in the airport is not genuine."

Britain, as the closest ally of Washington in the war on Iraq and the fight against terrorism, has longed feared it could be a prime target for attack by Islamic extremists.
