Hi guys, I know what the Throttle is for, I know what the Mixture is for, but everything concerning the Propeller behaviour, is still a maze for me. I understand feathering and how the turn of the blades can make the air run smoother or less through the engines. What I want to learn is, how I should operate my turboprop engines correctly and as real as it gets in each phase of my flight (takeoff, cruise, aproach, landing).
I read somewhere that the Propeller lever acts like the gearbox in the cars. And that when reaching my cruising altitude I should ease the tention of the propeller blades by slightly feathering it. (Like putting 5th gear on highways) Is this correct? Please if anyone could tell me the basics of RPM Torques, and so on, I would be very gratefull.
Or if you know a website with more details on Turboprop operations I would gladly read it. Thank you.
