MOL speaking
“We now have an opportunity with the new website to build Ryanair.com not just as the airline’s website but as a kind of Amazon for travel in Europe,” said Mr O’Leary in an interview with the Financial Times.

“All the services will be available on Ryanair.com — hotels, TripAdvisor — we want to disintermediate all the disintermediators . . . We have the scale to do it.”

The airline wants to increase the number of passengers it carries from about 100m this year to 160m over the next six to eight years. Over that period, it is targeting profits of €2bn.

Mr O’Leary ruled out the likelihood of Ryanair making any big acquisitions but said it could take minority stakes in rivals such as Lufthansa or Air France.

He expects market conditions to remain favourable for the next 12-18 months as low oil prices boost airlines’ profitability.

“The summer peak this year was extraordinary. In all the 28 years I’ve been in the business I’ve never seen such a perfect summer. Even the incompetent airlines made money,”

“In five years’ time there will be another radical change in the airline industry.

Ultimately I think Gulf carriers will buy large minority stakes in BA, Air France and Lufthansa and what you will see is three big global superpowers consisting of a Gulf carrier, a European major and a US major and they will have enormous control and almost limitless deep pockets to fund better aircrafts, better service and lower prices in the economy cabin in long haul and they will connect you all around the world but they will have no interest in short haul.

Δεν προχωράει απ' ότι φαίνεται το τάισμα EI και VS ωστόσο γίνονται συζητήσεις με TP, DY και μια undisclosed US carrier.

...the Irish low-cost airline may arrive later this year and possibly towards the end of October which is when the winter schedules commence.
What is likely to happen is that Ryanair will be transferring some or all of its flights which currently use Frankfurt Hahn to Luxembourg.

There are many new initiatives which will see the carrier introduce some bundled fares for both the business and leisure market.

There will also be travel “Extras” bookable in the mobile app. These include upgrading of seating, fast track, transfers and so on.

Perhaps most revolutionary (for Ryanair) is the launch of the carrier's first frequent flyer programme.

For some time Ryanair has encouraged flyers to sign up to "My Ryanair Club" but the club will be expanded to offer discounts and 24 hour priority to seat sales amongst other benefits.

Firstly, the CEO Michael O'Leary has said that the airline plans to introduce trial passenger transfer services at London Stansted and Barcelona airports (Irish Independent, 14-Apr-2016). Secondly, Ryanair is reported to be close to agreement on feeding Norwegian's long haul routes from London Gatwick (Irish Independent, 20/4/16).
